Integrating SmarterContact and Pebble

This guide walks you through how to connect SmarterContact with Pebble using Zapier. This setup helps you automatically send contacts from SmarterContact into Pebble — keeping your workflow smooth and centralized.

Before You Start

  • You’ll need a Zapier account
  • A SmarterContact account with contacts and messages set up
  • Access to your Pebble login and API integration through Zapier

To successfully connect your Pebble account with Zapier, the user setting up the integration must have admin access within Pebble. Member-level access will not provide the necessary permissions to enable the Zapier integration.

Make sure you're logged into Pebble with an admin account before attempting to connect it to Zapier.

Step by Step Setup in Zapier


1. Connect SmarterContact to Zapier

  • Log into Zapier
  • Start creating a new Zap
  • When prompted to choose your first app, search for SmarterContact


2. Set SmarterContact as the Trigger

  • After connecting, select Export Contact as the trigger event
  • This Zap will now run each time you manually export a contact from SmarterContact
  • Click Test Trigger to pull in a sample contact

3. Search for the Contact in Pebble

    • Add a new action: Pebble → Find Contact
    • Use fields like First Name, Last Name, or Phone Number
    • This step checks if the contact already exists in Pebble

💡 What if contact does not exist in Pebble?

Use Paths in Zapier:

    • Path A: If contact is found → continue
    • Path B: If contact is not found → Create Contact
    • Make sure to map
      • Name
      • Phone number
      • Email Address

  1. Find or Create the Property in Pebble

  • Action: Pebble → Find Property
  • Match on fields:
    • Property Address or Parcel Number (APN)

💡If Property Is Not Found:

Use another Path to Create Property

    • Choose Action: Create Property
    • Map property fields like:
      • Property Address
      • County
      • Contact ID (from earlier step)
      • Optional: Parcel Number

6. Create a Deal in Pebble

  • Action: Pebble → Create Deal

    Use dynamic naming like “SmarterContact Lead – {{First Name}}”

    Make sure to map:

    • Contact ID
    • Property ID
    • Deal Board & Initial Stage

7. (Optional) Add a Note with Contact Details

  • Action: Pebble → Create Note
  • Include any relevant message, lead tag, or SmarterContact notes
  • Attach the note to the Contact or Deal

8. Test the Zap & Turn It On

  • Use Test Action in Zapier to verify everything works
  • Once successful, turn the Zap ON

9. Confirm in Pebble

  • Go to your Contacts, Properties, or Deal Board in Pebble
  • You should now see the newly added entries

Note: This workflow is manual by design — export only the contacts you want to move into Pebble
